The Gipsy Bag and crew flew out to Vegas for a few days to have some serious fun. Where else can you stay in a fabulous hotel, hang out at some super cool pool clubs, shop at some of the best stores around, eat at some of the best restaurants in the country, and party at some of the coolest nightclubs in the World?

We decided to stay at the Cosmopolitan in the new City Center this time around. We usually stay at Encore, Wynn, Venetian or Palazzo, but wanted to try something different…The Cosmopolitan is probably now in our top 2 fav places to stay in Vegas. It’s between the Wynn and Cosmo….The Cosmopolitan is a smaller hotel compared to some of the other mega properties in Vegas, which we actually like. Some of the hotels are overwhelming because they are soooo large. Cosmo’s vibe is elegant contemporary…The rooms are awesome. We stayed in a King Terrace, which is basically a junior suite with a large balcony. Our room was in the West Tower with the Strip/Bellagio view. We highly

recommend you request this tower and view. We were on the 58th floor and can tell you we have never had such an amazing view in Vegas. We overlooked the Bellagio water show, strip and could see out to the mountains. You almost didn’t want to leave the room because the view was so awesome. The rooms are very well decorated, have extremely comfy beds, 2 flat screen t.v.s with all the high tech features you could imagine, work station, living area, kitchenette with dishwasher/mini refrigerator, sink, microwave and lots of cabinet space. The kitchen was missing a coffee maker, plates and utensils.. We made sure to mention are frustration with this. They said they are working on getting the kitchens stocked they way they should be…. The bathrooms are very large with a japanese jacuzzi tub, oversized shower and dual sinks….
There were lots of restaurants to choose from, but many had some really funky menus, which weren’t that appealing to us. We did eat at the “secret” pizza parlor on the 3rd floor located between the sushi restaurant and tapas restaurant. They have delicious NY style think crust pizza, which you HAVE to try when you visit the Cosmo… We also ate at Holsteins burger and shake joint, which was good…The coffee shop on the 2nd floor was decent. It would be great if they had more food choices though.. They have alot of pastries, but could use some fresh fruit, oatmeal, bagels, etc..
There are 3 pools. Boulevard pool where lots of outdoor concerts are held. There’s also a gigantic jacuzzi and a game/tv area with a pool table and flat screens to watch sports. The Bamboo pool is next to fitness center and has a more laid back quiet vibe. Lastly, the Marquee Day Club, which is adults only and does cost to get into on the weekends. You will also need to pay for seating. It’s $50 per lounge chair and more expensive for daybeds and cabanas. The cabanas come w/ small infinity plunge pools.. The fee goes towards your beverage and food bill, so that’s cool. We recommend ordering either pitchers of Sangria or Mojitos.
At night there is no reason to leave the Cosmopolitan. They have what some say is the number one club in the world right now (We’d beg to differ, but whatever). The Marquee Club is not your big massive super club, rather it’s a club filled with various intimate spaces. The club also extends outside to the pool area where they stream video on the big screen of the D.J. spinning inside…Pretty cool. They frequently have guest DJ’s like Tiesto, Armin Van Buren, Deadmau 5, etc. We went to the Marquee on a Monday night, which happens to be industry night. We have two words to explain the scene HELLA CRAZY! We aren’t about to give you the skinny here on the blog….We’re gonna let you go check it out for yourself!
The Gipsy Bag always likes to give props to some of it’s fav places, so we’re going to list some restaurants we think you should check out. Sushi Roku@Caesars Palace, STK@Cosmopolitan, Diego@MGM, Shibuya@MGM, Okada@Wynn, Alize@Palms, Capriotti’s@on Sahara Ave, Raising Cane’s Fried Chicken@locations all over, FireFly@off the strip by Hard Rock (hands down best Sangria EVER)…
We cannot end this blog without mentioning the absolute most entertaining show in Vegas right now. It’s called ABSINTHE. It’s named after the highly alcoholic spirit, which has been said to be dangerously addictive psychoactive drug! This show is absolutely CRAZY! It’s been referred to as Cirque Du Soleil meets the Rocky Horror Show. It’s held in an old 1800′s circus tent. The venue is small so you don’t have to worry about buying VIP Tickets. Just buy general admission tickets and you will be able to see everything right in front of your eyes…. We promise you will will love this show. But, be warned….. Lots of vulgar comedy, hot bodies (guys and girls), and amazing acrobatics…
So after 4 days in Vegas, we were ready to go home. Vegas is after all… A Love Hate relationship…
See you soon Vegas,
